Common Core Math (W/ Assessment)

As I have told you before, this is my first year back in kindergarten after teaching first grade for 3 years. This is also the first year that our school district's kindergarten classes have implemented the Common Core standards so I have had a lot to learn in one year. Next year, first grade and second grade will join kindergarten in teaching the Common Core standards in our school district. Since our kindergarten is just learning the new Common Core standards, we are fumbling feeling our way through them.

During the last quarter of the school year, we are assessing some of the more difficult Common Core standards. I created an assessment for the math Common Core standard K.OA.4 (For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number.).
This is a freebie that I have uploaded to my TpT store. Please leave me some feedback if you download it. I would also love if you would follow my TpT store. Thanks so much!

  1. Hi. I love this assessment. I am in the process of gathering common core materials and organizing them by standard...I will definitely add this to my files! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Chris - I am so glad you found an activity you could use in your classroom. The new common core standards will definitely make it easier for us to share ideas and information across the US.

  3. I am a New Entrant teacher (what you call Kindergarten) in Christchurch, New Zealand. I have just stumbled across your blog on Pinterest and have now spent a good half an hour or more looking at the amazing things you have created for your class. They are so lucky to have you - you inspire me. Thanks for making so many of your things downloadable - I know that I am going to enjoy making them up and my class are going to love using them!

  4. Thanks so much for the freebie! We are also learning CC Math this year. It was a huge mountain to climb in the beginning of the year. But since I've found great blogs like yours, I have been more at ease!
