Here is what I'm loving this week!
1) Spending time with family! I was able to see my aunt who lives 3 hours a way this past weekend. I was also able to spend valuable time with my mom and mother-in-law during Mother's Day. I also have both of my grandmothers still living close by and saw them too. These women are so special! It means so much to spend time with the people who are most important to me.
2) Planning our end of year kindergarten celebration! The kindergarten team is planning an end of the year cookout for our kinders and their parents. This is the first time we have done anything like this so we are hoping it will be a lot of fun for the kids and parents too!
3) That my kinders are finished with our end of the year MAP testing! We took our last part of the math MAP test yesterday so my kinders have now taken all 4 parts of MAP they are required to take by our district and let's just say it feels fabulous for their teacher! They did great - I was the one who was stressing over their scores!
4) Only 2 more days until our final field trip! I think I am as excited as the kinders since I have never been to this place before. It is a swamp that has a learning center. We are going to visit the butterfly house, learn about reptiles like alligators, and go on a paddle boat ride of the swamp. I can't wait!

Oh my! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE cookout/picnic day with my kiddos. You will love it! I've learned to make it a relaxed day and not worry about too much that goes on or it will always feel like a fail. We have the kids bring something to sit on like a towel and we all camp out under a tree. They love it and ask to do it over and over once they enter the first grade :)

I'm jealous you get to go on field trips! we are in a remote village so I have to rely on video conferencing to expose my children to the world. It can be very challenging sometimes, but worth it.

Wow! I can't imagine living in Alaska although it is somewhere I have always wanted to visit. We live in a small town about an hour from any larger city so it does make field trips kind of tricky. I am lucky to have the opportunity to expose my kinders to the world!
