Teachers Appreciation Week Purchases
Well I had a great time shopping during the TpT Teacher Appreciation Sale. I found some great things on sale that I have had in my wishlist for a while. Here are the things I purchased.
Frog Frenzy Math & Literacy Fun! Nonfiction Unit Aligned with Common Core (Deanna Jump)
This is a unit I have had in my wishlist and it is my first (but definitely not my last) purchase from Deanna. This unit fits in perfectly with our Pond Life unit we do each April.
Fall, Winter, & Spring Sentence Puzzles (Lori Rosenberg)
This is a pack of scrambled sentences for each season of the school year. I tried out a sample sheet a while back and my kinders LOVED it. These sheets have different levels from simple to more complex where the students have to unscramble the sentence and then answer the question. I have already copied 4 of these puzzles to use during the remaining weeks of school.
Insects & Lifecycles MEGA Unit for Literacy, Math & Science Centers (Kreative in Kinder)
This is another unit I have been wanting for a while. I love all the activities included in this unit and I am sure it will be perfect for my lifecycles unit we do each spring.
Patriotic Kids (Krista Walden)
Ocean Commotion (Krista Walden)
Spring Fling (Krista Walden)
I also purchased these clipart packs from Krista. I love her artwork! I have some great ideas in mind for some new products using this clipart so stay tuned!

Frugal Finds
Last night, I went with a friend on a "quick" trip to Target (probably my FAVORITE store!). Yeah right! We can never make a "quick" trip anywhere! We always find lots to look at! :)
While we were there, we had to make a trip through the Dollar Spot. We noticed that the selection was rather slim (I guess they are changing over their seasonal merchandise) and they had some of their Dollar Spot items marked down to 50% off making them $0.50 each. When we got to checkout we discovered they were actually 70% off making them only $0.30 each. I only purchased a few things but they sure were a great deal!
Here are the items I purchased for $0.30 each:
I also purchased a set of 4 plastic tumblers for my kinders to store their pencils in at their tables. I couldn't get the picture of them to load. Sorry!
While wandering in the store, we went through the Back to School section where some items were on clearance as well. I found a couple of great buys there too!

These tin pails have chalkboard labels painted on so I can label what is in each container. I love it!
These are 3 little adhesive cork boards. I am going to put them around my room to hang notes that I need to see but can change out easily.

I found these 6 packs of pink erasers for $0.92. They were originally $1.84. I got 5 packs so I could give each of my kinders a new eraser. Erasers seems to disappear in our room...LOL!

Walmart Frugal Finds
My hubby took me out to dinner on Friday night which was great. We went to a small local restaurant with some great seafood and very casual dining. This is the note he wrote me on the brown paper table covering! So sweet! I love him so much!!
While out with my hubby, I went to Walmart to pick up some things we needed for the house but I couldn't resist going through the school supplies and clearance section. I found some irresistible deals! Our local Walmart has discounted some of their leftover back to school items.
I found these great little index card boxes that were originally $0.88. They were on clearance for $0.25 each. They will make great storage for literacy games. I got 6 of them in the 3 different colors here.
I found these smaller pencil boxes that were $0.50 originally on clearance for $0.25. They are the perfect size to store my dry erase markers and erasers for my dry erase literacy station and to store pencils for my write the room literacy station. I got 8 of these.
These mini-notebooks were in packs of 4 and were marked down to $0.25 for each pack which was another great buy. I am going to use these in my writing center. I think my kinders will love getting to write on the mini-notebooks since they are different from the typical writing paper. I also purchased enough of these to give my kinders for part of their Christmas presents.
I found these packs of binder rings with 8 in a pack marked down to $1.00 from $1.44 so I got 2 packs.
In all, I spent less than $7.00 on all the items I purchased for my classroom and I got a ton of stuff! I just LOVE finding great deals when shopping! It means I have more money to spend on other things! :)

Fabulously Frugal Finds
As much as I hate to admit it, the end of summer is almost here...sad, I know. But I am looking forward to meeting a new group of kinders. This week while I was out running errands, I picked up some things for school.
A new Target opened up closer to my house (45 mins.) than any other Target so I had to make a trip to see what they had in store. Let me just say that I had a great time in their Dollar Spot. Here are some of my great finds!

Star student chair cover for $1! I plan to hang this over the back of my star student's chair. They will love it!
Adorable notepads!
Dr. Seuss border and nametags I am saving this for next school year when I am thinking about doing a Dr. Seuss theme.

Summer Vacation & Some School Shopping
This week, my sweet hubby and I went on vacation to the lake. We stayed in a wonderful little cabin right on the lake and had such a nice relaxing time. We spent lots of time on the water fishing and just riding in the boat as well as swimming in the lake.
We had no internet service at our vacation spot, so I have not been able to post or read my fellow blogger's posts. I guess I will be spending the weekend catching up!
While we were on vacation, we made a stop by the local Walmart to pick up some necessary items to take with us to the cabin and I found some things I needed for my classroom. I found the poly folders for $0.50 each which is a better buy than the usual $0.88 they usually are. I was able to grab 28 blue folders that I will be using for my kinders' homework folders. I will post pictures when I make the labels to go inside as well.
I also ran in the local Dollar Tree and found these wonderful baskets. They are a little larger than letter size paper and will be perfect for paper baskets. I can find so many uses for these and they were only $1! I bought all 4 they had and I will be looking for more of them when I go to another Dollar Tree. The worker there told me they came in yellow, red, blue, and green; I got the green and blue.
I also found an adorable star pointer at Michaels a few weeks ago for $1. It is laying in the basket right now.
My hubby and me with a gorgeous lake sunset!
The sunset view! We could walk right out to the edge of the lake.
Inside our lake cabin - I LOVED the beautiful oak walls!

TpT Shopping Spree
![]() |
Thanks Erica for the cute graphic!
Since most of the sellers on TpT are participating in the 20% off for Teacher Appreciation this week, I decided it was the perfect time to spend my TpT gift card that I won in a blog giveaway. I do love a good sale especially when I am getting some items that I know I will put to good use!
Here is what I purchased:
Click on the title of each item to go to the TpT page
1. There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Shell Math & Literacy Pack
My kinders will love this unit as we are learning about the ocean and beach this month. This is the unit I always end our year with since we live so close to the beach. This pack is based on the adorable book There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Shell.
2. Zero the Hero Classroom Counting Fun
I always love using Zero the Hero every 10th day of school and this unit has given me a whole assortment of new activities that I will be able to use next year.
3. Community Helpers Unit: Math, Literacy & Social Studies Centers
Since we always do a community helpers unit in January, I thought this would be a perfect addition to my classroom.
4. Wild and Wacky Weather! Math & Literacy Activities
Weather is one of the units we teach in kindergarten that is based on our state science standards. I loved this unit because it has both math and literacy activities around the theme of weather.
I am linking up with Erica at Erica Bohrer's First Grade to show off my purchases.
Don't forget that I am also running the 20% off sale in my TpT store thru tomorrow as well. I have posted my new ocean unit: Under the Sea - Math & Literacy that is also on sale.

Spring Has Arrived!
This beautiful rainbow was seen right outside my house yesterday.
Well it is official...spring has arrived in South Carolina! I am loving this wonderful spring weather we have been having. We have been having 75 to 80 degree days with lots of sunshine. It has been fantastic but it has caused my sweet kinderkids to get spring fever very early! They have been wearing me out.
Yesterday we had a Flex Day (a teacher workday that we had already made up our time for) so we got the day off. The weather was fabulous with a warm breeze and it even got up to 82 degrees so I headed down to the beach for the day. It was FABULOUS!! After a couple of hours, I decided that some retail therapy was also in order. I had to have some new sandals for spring/summer so here is what I found!
These adorable sandals are by Chinese Laundry. They were just so cute I had to try them on and they will go with so many outfits this spring. Comfortable flip flops are always a winner in my book!
I LOVED these wedges as soon as I saw them but was pleasantly surprised when I realized they were comfortable as well as cute. They are made by Clarks and feel great on my feet. I probably won't be able to wear them when I am teaching my kinders but I will have lots of fun wearing them on dates with my hubby and weekends.
Obviously black is one of my signature colors! These adorable sandals are made by one of my favorite shoe makers - Born. I loved the flower on top of the shoe. They look adorable on the foot as well. They are oh so comfortable and I will be able to wear them a lot this spring while teaching my kinders.
I have obviously updated my sandal collection. Sorry for the long non-teaching post, but I hope you enjoy seeing how I spent my day off! I hope you all are enjoying the spring weather as well!
