I SURVIVED 100 Days of 2nd Grade!

Today was our school's 100th day! So of course I celebrated it as most teachers do with my class. I truly feel like this year I SURVIVED 100 days of 2nd grade. Changing grade levels has truly been a difficult experience for me. I am a creature of habit and I LOVED teaching my Kinders, but all good things must come to an end I guess. In true teacher fashion, I would never let my kiddos know that I miss teaching a lower grade. I do love my class and even though I did not require or even ask my class to create a 100th day shirt, I had a student who did. I thought it was too adorable so I had to share it with you!
It is just TOO CUTE right?!

It Was The 100th Day - Hooray!!

Yesterday was our 100th day of school! This is always a major milestone in any early childhood class but the kinders always get super excited when they see 100 in our class pocket chart. To celebrate the 100th day we did lots of fun activities. Here are some that I managed to get pictures of.

We made 100 Fruit Loops necklaces. I use mini tens frames to help my kinders count out 10 groups of 10 to make 100. This seems to help and makes it easier for me.

If I Had $100 writing:

I would spend it for 100 presents.

I would buy a mansion and a new car.
(I definitely want to know how she's going to stretch her $100 this far!)

My Favorite Part of the First 100 Days of School writing:
I liked when we went to the aquarium.
Hope you all are having a terrific Tuesday! If you have not already celebrated the first 100 days of school, I hope this will give you some ideas!

We Are 100 Days Smarter!

Monday was our 100th day of school and boy was it BUSY!!

There are so many good educational things to do on the 100th day and I can never fit them all in so this year I am doing some 100th day things all week.

Drawing how they think they will look when they are 100 years old:

Making their 100 Fruit Loop necklaces (The tens frames make it so much easier!!):

100th day sentence mix-up:

The kiddos had to cut the words apart and put them back in the correct order for the sentence.

I hope you enjoyed seeing our 100th day activities! Happy Friday everyone!

Hip Hip Hooray...We've Been in School 100 Days!

Today we celebrated our 100th day of school. It was a day full of fun activities. I know that many of you have already celebrated your 100th day of school, but you may be able to use some of these activities next year.

We drew what we thought we would look like when we were 100 years old. (Don't you love the walking cane and gray hair?!)

This was my outfit for the day -- a jean jacket made with 100 bows covering it (just like Miss Bindergarten!). My mom made it for me!
(I can't get it to rotate...sorry!)

We made hats from an old Mailbox magazine that has buses to count by tens.

We also made 100 Fruit Loop necklaces. These necklaces were not hard to make. I gave each child a ten frame and they made a set of 10 Fruit Loops of one color. Then they put this set on their yarn which was taped to to table. The other other end of the yarn was wrapped with Scotch tape to make it easier to string the Fruit Loops.

I hope this will give you some inspiration if your 100th day is coming up!
